If you’re looking for a few more ideas to add to your savvy spending list, look no further! (For a Part 1 refresher, click here: https://jmvfinancialservices.com//4-smart-ways-to-spend-your-tax-refund/)
1.Donate to a charity. Not only will you feel good about helping a cause you’re passionate about, donating to a worthy charity will pay it forward to your tax refund for next year as well.
2. Beef up your emergency fund. If you don’t have a fund started to help keep you afloat in the event of a loss of job or other unthinkables, using some of your tax refund to start saving for at le
ast three months – if not six – to live off of is definitely encouraged.
3. Save for college or retirement…or both. Why not put a few extra dollars in that college or retirement fund you’ve started – or have been wanting to start? It doesn’t have to be a lot at first, but it’s always a good idea to have a little something tucked away and earning interest for when those college or retirement years sneak up on you.
4. Start that business you’ve always dreamed of having. There’s no time like the present to do what you were created to do. If you keep waiting until timing is just right, you’ll be waiting forever. There will always be an excuse as to why you shouldn’t jump in with both feet, but at some point you’ll have to decide if the regret will be greater than the reward. The choice is always yours.
