How Money Beliefs Are Holding You Back

Home - Uncategorized - How Money Beliefs Are Holding You Back

Beliefs are things we accept are true or exist, especially without proof. There are a lot of things we hear about money and go ahead to believe them without even questioning.

Most of the times such beliefs affect us and our businesses negatively without us realizing.

What money beliefs do you have?

To what extent do you think they have held you back?

There are several money beliefs that often hold you back as a business owner. The following are some of these beliefs.

People with money are greedy

This is a common money myth about business people. It’s always believed that all business people are greedy. But is that really true? Well, I don’t deny the fact that there are people who are greedy naturally. However, their greed may not have anything to do with their business.

Besides, some people mistake being economical with being greedy. It is important to understand that successful business people do not mix their businesses with family or friendship. For instance, some friends or relatives might want to be treated with favor such as being sold goods on credit – something that is not healthy for a business.

Money is the root of all evil

I am sure you have heard about this phrase more than a dozen times. But is it really true that money is the root of all evil? Unfortunately, some people tend to hold on to this belief dearly. At the end of the day, it ends up affecting their businesses negatively.

If for example, you accept that money is the root of all evil, will you work so hard to get that money? The truth is that money is not the root of all evil – it might be true for some people but not for everyone. In any case, the lack of money is the root of all evil.

I can only make money by working hard

It is true that hard work pays, but it is also true that you can work hard and still make very little or no money at all. Many people will often tell you that if you don’t work hard you will remain poor.

As a business owner, you need to work both hard and smart in order to succeed. There are many people who make money while sleeping. How do they do that? They work smart and not hard.

Starting a business needs a lot of capital

Well, there’s no doubt that most businesses require a substantial amount of money to start. However, there are also many businesses that one can start with virtually no capital. You don’t need hundreds of dollars to open a certain business. But if you strongly believe that you must have a lot of money before starting, then you might probably not start any business soon.

Overcoming negative beliefs and money myths

There’s a lot of power in believing. What you believe in is what you become. That’s why it is important to always have a positive mindset. Your subconscious plays a critical role in how your mind operates. For instance, if you accept the fact that money is the root of all evil, then your entire body system goes into work to derail all efforts of making money.

The same things apply to every aspect of your life. You need to cultivate a culture of positive thinking. This means avoiding negative beliefs about money and your business. For instance, instead of believing that most businesses fail, start believing that your business is going to succeed.

In general, negative thinking will negatively affect your business operation. Choose today to always be positive and take your business to a higher level.
